It was great to see Ben Stokes back to somewhere near his best in Christchurch, both as a captain and as a player. He is one of the best England captains - if not the best - I've seen, up there with the likes of Michael Vaughan and Mike Brearley, whose win record of 18 he equalled. While he was not quite on in Pakistan, it was never in doubt that his captaincy was going to return to the levels we have seen for the last couple of years.
